Directed by the Ministry of Culture, Changhua County Government, Changhua City Office, and organized by Changhua Calligraphy Association and Forwell Lions Club International, and sponsored exclusively by Forwell, co-organized by the Affiliated Industrial Vocational High School of NCUE together with another lions club, the contest is titled “Han Yi Shen Fei” (literal translation: Flying Calligraphy) and was held in the Affiliated Industrial Vocational High School of NCUE. Participants’ calligraphic works were examined and awarded at the contest.
The award ceremony was held by professional calligrapher together with Changhua City and County officials. General Manager Hsiao of Forwell and other important local cultural figures were also present at the ceremony.
Most of all, in order to foster calligraphy as the national quintessence, Forwell company has been sponsored the contest for the consecutive five times. The company is the exclusive sponsor of the contest.
There were 732 calligraphic works composing 6 inventories and there were 132 selected for the finals. People came from all over Taiwan and there were three people chosen for the final round. Besides the three people there are still others for the other awards. In the end, there are one for middle-class elementary team, one for high-class elementary team, one for junior high, one for senior high, one for adults, and one for the elders.
